When you visit the page for "Create your own token", you may wonder if the address that you have is "wallet address" or "contract address". From the plain eyes, both addresses have very similar format and hard to tell which on is which. However, we got the very simple trick for you!
You may have heard about the popular Ethereum Blockchain Explorer "Etherscan". You could simple paste your interested address to the search field. Then, click search!
Voilà! If you look at the result, you will see “Contract” in front of the address you have entered. This means the address you have enter contract address or they use the word “Token Contract” here.
Now, if you see “Address” instead of “Contract”, it means that the address that you entered is "wallet address" which is not a "contract address" that you could use for “create your token” on the Yellow platform. The wallet address is like our bank account number where you could share it with people publicly and anyone can deposit tokens/assets to the wallet by referring to the wallet address. If you have access to a wallet, you could withdraw or transfer tokens/assets to other wallets too. Please be aware that each asset may use different types of wallets to store. Depositing assets to wrong wallets can cause you to lose funds permanently.
Happy Yellow Creators!
